TRAIL ROTARY CLUB
DIRECTORS MEETING MINUTES

Attendance: Present -Ray Masleck, Barbara Pistak, Lana Rodlie, Betty-Anne Marino, Gay Prokopetz, Jan Morton, and ADG Elizabeth Cytra
Absent - Ernie Lalonde, Forrest Drinnen, Scott Daniels, and Shane McIntyre.

Agenda:

1. Call to order -At 7:15pm by Pres. Ray Masleck
2. Approve minutes as distributed by website-declared approved - No business from minutes
3. Old Business -
a) Resignation of Past President Elmer Verigin - He will not be returning to the Trail Club - probably he will join one of the Castlegar Clubs.

4. Correspondence
Letters from the Couer D'Alene Club and the Trail Historical
Society - read and filed.

5. Sgt. D'Arms - Ernie - absent
There was some discussion about livening up our meetings - i.e. - trivia at tables.
There was also discussion regarding other venues and menus for our meetings - Gay, Lana and Betty-Anne will investigate other options and report back.

6. Club Service - Gay
a) New members - Four names have been put forward and approved for membership - Sue Bock, Diane Brownrigg, Keith Smythe, and Dave Fischer.
b) Guess Who's Coming to Dinner - Sept 26 and 27th
c) Racketeers - Shelley will get in touch with the Racketeers
d) Speakers - we have a problem with speakers canceling , also the person introducing our speaker needs to spend more time with them.
e) Comments from Gay - there is an item of the Family of Rotary on the RI website.

7. Community Service -Betty Anne
a) Rotary Park Status - Sandi has been away however planning will be done by fall.
b) Rotary House - Jan - will do a written report

8. Vocational Service - Scott - absent
a) There was some discussion about the Rotary Scholarship and it was decided unanimously that we should increase it to $1000 with two criteria: i) the scholarship will be given for service to the school, and ii) the winner will come and speak to the club

9. International Service - Lana
a) Cheryl Yeates is to take over this committee.
b) Our student is doing well

10. Ways & Means - Forrest - absent
a) There will be a committee meeting sometime in the beginning of Oct.
b) Dinner Theatre will be Jan 31st 2004

12. Financial Reports - Treasurer -Shane - absent

13. Assistant District Governor -Elizabeth Cytra - ADG Visit - Sept 25th

14. Other Announcements
a) Happy Hour will be in 2 weeks and will be announced in the bulletin
b) Rivers Day request was discussed
c) District Assembly - Oct 4 - Training for Foundation Membership and Dinner
d) Nov 26 - Silent Auction
e) Dec 3 - Club assembly and election of officers
f) Induction of new members - Oct 1st?
g) We will cancel meetings on Dec 24th and Dec 31st due to the Christmas Holidays
h) Comment by Betty-Anne - Mary Lynn Rakussen will have a draft for terms of reference for the Erickson Trust sub-committee
