Rotary Ways and Means Report for February 2004
We had 2 projects that have been completed since our last Board meeting. The diamond pendent, which was drawn on
February 11, netted the club $ 1855. The winner of the pendent was our own Rotarian, Lesley Gallie. Winner of the
$ 250 gift certificate was Susan Kurtz of Nelson and winning a $ 100 gift certificate was Darrell Cross of Trail.
I will report to the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch these results.
The dinner theatre "Southern Fried Murder" was a great event. It was held on February 7th for the pleasure
of all who attended. We had 160 guests and the initial net profit will be over $ 1900. The play was good, the actors
were brilliant and the food was superb. Final results will be known shortly. Lana and her friends did a marvelous
job with this event. Thank you.
These were 2 very successful fundraisers for the club. Also to report that the bill for the rent of the Charles
Bailey Theatre was reduced to $ 151, thanks to a 15% discount and a $ 500 grant from the Regional District. Ray,
I think we should write a thank you note to them?
Next event will be the Rotary Hole-in-One Golf Tournament, to be held latter in our year.
