Rotary Club of Trail Directors' Meeting

Minutes of previous meeting - Moved by Jan and seconded by Forrest that minutes of previous meeting be adopted as circulated, Carried

Items to add to the agenda - Turn around meeting

Correspondence -Various requests for funding -
a. Shad Valley - Stephen Ceccini
b. Receipt from Squamish rotary Club - this was for the Marcolin birthday money designated for street children project.
c. Email from Elizabeth Cytra regarding GSE team from India - It was moved by Jan and seconded by John that we provide lunch on June 8. We are invited to attend a dlinner at Elizabeth Cytras - Cost is unknown as yet.
d. Letter from RI - April is volunteer month
e. Letter from DG - regarding Dean Cummings project for clean water - he needs funds to return to Kenya to continue work on water systems. Moved by Ray and seconded by Forrest that we contribute $100 US for this project - Motion carried.
f. We received a $500 from the Castlegar Rotary Club for the hospital accommodation project - Jan has sent an thank- you note.
g. Request from Margarita for funds to pay for 2nd exchange student ( this is a short term exchange)-we have not budgeted for this so we cannot pay for it.

Old Business - Water Feature - Leigh had said he would look after this.

COMMITTEES

Sgt at Arms - Walter is away so this is tabled

Community Service - Gay - Peter Morgenthaler is working on the Silver City Days Float.
Meeting of the Greening Committee - a decision was made to adopt a flower bed - the one in front of the Arena. - there will be a sign indicating that the Rotary Club is looking after it - we will need volunteers from time to time to change the plants.

Club Service - Leigh is away

International Service - Cheryl is gone - she has been transferred to Castlegar and can not make our meetings.
GSE team is coming on June 8 -we will be serving lunch.
May 25th the exchange students will be here - we need host families for 30 kids. The bus driver is put up in the Terra Nova and we have to pay for this. It was decided to have a barbecue at Kiwanis park with Hot Dogs and Hamburgers and pot luck items from the Rotarians. They can spend the next day at Champion Lakes and we will provide lunch before they leave for Creston.

Vocational Service - Scott is away

Ways and Means - Forrest - the Dinner Theatre was a financial success and there some details to finish up. The next project is a Charity Bingo to be held in the fall at the Cominco Arena. ( possibly Oct 2). Preliminary planning is in progress.

Update on Hospital Accommodation Project - Jan - We are waiting on communication with the Bishop

Turnaround Meeting - Will be on June 21st at Birchbank Golf Course - dinner at 6pm - golfing before for those who want to golf. This is our installation of the new Exec and Board.

Membership Discussion - We need to deal with our shrinking numbers - people have been leaving for a variety of reasons - It was suggested that we have one meeting where everyone brings a friend.

Next meeting - at Ray Maslecks home or at Leigh Harrison's - April 19th at 7 pm
