Vocational Service Report
April 2005
Prepared by S. Daniels
1. RYLA. RYLA details have been circulated to the membership and Carol McIntyre at J.L. Crowe. This year's
deadline is 20-May. An application form is available from www.trailrotary.com.
2. J.L. Crowe & Other Scholarships. An article on Rotary's Ambassadorial Scholarship had been placed in
the Trail Times, yet there were no applicants this year. Overall in our district, there were six applicants for
one Ambassadorial Scholarship award this year.
3. Student Initatives:
a) Career's Day. Piotr has this well underway. Students have been solicited for preferences and the two career talks
will be from a Lawyer and an Electrician. Dates are currently being considered: 14-April, 22-April or 3-May.
c) CareerLinks. Scott has made no progress on this new initiative.
4. WebSite. Our WebSite is being routinely used by the membership: approximately 70-80% of the members having access to the Internet are routinely downloading Keith's Club Bulletin. ClubRunner software is a commercial WebSite manager. Scott learned more about this at last week's Rotary District 5080 AGM. Scott has read more details and has now signed up for a 30-day free trial to investigate further. Comments have been circulated to our Club Executive and Directors.
