25-October-2003 Stripping the Gardens Community Service

This Rotary Club of Trail Community Service event was organized as a result of a Teck Cominco Metals Ltd. fund raising challenge between the Research and Technical Services groups in Trail. The fundraiser was an annual, "Mining For Miracles" campaign to raise funds for the BC Children's Hospital. The winners were the kids and the losers, Technical Services, were to provide 10 volunteers for a Rotary Club of Trail, Community Service function. In total, these two groups raised $7,000. Today, these active, willing and enthusiastic participants are helping Rotary support important work of the Communities in Bloom group by stripping the gardens in downtown Trail. Sincere thanks to all who helped with this community event: Mike Jensen, Sue Jensen, Robyn Jensen, Adam Jensen, Bill Van Beek, Carol Vanelli, Henry Salomon-De-Friedberg, Mike Heximer, Karla Dick, Heather Dobson, Chris Datchkoff, Waseem Saeed, Luigi Isernia, Keith Lepla, Marilyn Heddon, Carol DeRosa, Louie DeRosa, Piotr Zielinski, Heather Dobson, Don Nutini, Lorna Nutini, Lynn Gould, George Swanson, Allyson Perrott and Scott Daniels.
